Steve has played leading roles in a number of Musical Theatre productions
including Anything Goes, the Sound of Music and Brigadoon. He has directed
productions at the Royal National Theatre in London, the Stephen Joseph
Theatre in Scarborough, the Theatre Royal in York and the Leeds Civic
Theatre and the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds. He has also directed Guys
and Dolls and played the part of Warbucks in Annie at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival.
In 1993 he founded St Mary’s Youth Theatre becoming their Producer initially
before taking on the role of Artistic Director in 2002. Now all his spare time is
taken up with the running of the group as Artistic Director and since St Mary’s
Youth Theatre became a registered charity as Chairman of the Trustees.
His full time paid job being a Speech & Drama teacher at Woodhouse Grove
School, Apperley Bridge, Bradford. He has also taught at various Bradford and
Leeds Stage Schools.
