Anita trained at Bretton Hall College and is an accomplished musical theatre
actress having performed numerous lead roles in London and regionally. She
is an award-winning singer.
Anita now focuses on, and has over 18 years experience as a Director and
Choreographer. She has worked extensively with professional, amateur and
community groups and has numerous critically acclaimed and award-winning
productions under her belt. She has directed and choreographed over 50 full-
scale musicals and operas and numerous plays and reviews. Anita sits on the
Leeds CAN committee and champions community arts throughout the city.
Anita also works as a theatre practitioner with a range of diverse groups. She
works with adults, children and young people, young offenders and prisoners
using theatre as a tool for social change and empowerment. She runs projects
for young people allowing them to explore all aspects of the theatre and create
their own spectacular pieces. Anita offers masterclass positions to performers
in training and mentors a new Assistant Director each year.
Anita is the resident Artistic Director of Leeds Youth Opera and Leeds Gilbert
and Sullivan society. She has just completed a sell out season of Les
Miserables, Turn of the Screw and A Masked Ball and is currently in production for La Boheme and The Mikado.
